Consulate General confirms death of Mexican detained in Alameda

The Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco issued a press release regarding the events that occurred on April 19 and confirmed that the deceased person is of Mexican nationality.

A 26-year-old Mexican-born person was reportedly arrested by officers from the Alameda Police Department in California. Moments later, it was announced that the person had died.

Today, in an information card from the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco, through the Secretary of Foreign Relations of the Government of Mexico, it reported that they have already contacted the mother of the deceased. In addition, the Consulate General established that all necessary consular assistance will be provided.
