On Tuesday, November 8, the midterm elections in the United States and the general elections in the state of California were held. The counting has begun, however there are still 135 thousand ballots to be processed. So far, these are the results of the elections in San Mateo County.
State
Gavin Newsom, current governor of the state of California and candidate for the same position, has swept these elections with 72.11 percent, that is, 86,744 votes, compared to Brian Dahle, who had 27.89 percent.
In addition, for the position of lieutenant governor, Eleni Kounalakis has an undeniable lead over Angela E. Underwood, with 72.22 percent of the votes against Angela's 27.78 percent.
Candidate Shirley N. Weber has a significant lead for California State Secretary of State with 71.79 percent to Rob Bernosky's 28.21 percent.
For the State Attorney General position, Rob Bonta has 71.46 percent of the vote, while Nathan Hochman has 28.54 percent.
In addition, Patricia Guerrero, who is seeking re-election as Chief Justice of the State of California, has a landslide lead with 82.43 percent, or 79,089 votes.
Fees for San Mateo County
As a member of the District 2 Board of Supervisors, Noelia Corzo had a preference of 50.21 percent, while Charles Stone had 49.49 percent.
Additionally, for District 3, Ray Mueller has a significant lead with 64.28 percent of the vote.
Education
For superintendent of public education, Tony K. Thurmond holds a 69.98 percent lead to Lance Ray Christensen's 30.02 percent.
As a member of the San Mateo County Community College District, Michael Guingona has 59.71 percent of the vote, while Michael Makstman has 40.29 percent.
For the Honda-Pescadero Unified School District, Allison Collins has 35.54 percent of the vote, Veronica Mazariegos-Anastassiou 34.19 percent, Kelly Bowman Greenwood 16.84 percent and Andy Wilson 13.43 percent.
On the other hand, for the South San Francisco Unified School District, Amanda Anthony has the lead with 65.29 percent of the vote, while Steven H Kassel has 34.71 percent.
In the case of the Sequoia Union High School District Trustee Area A, Amy Koo currently has 56.84 percent, while in Trustee Area D, Sathvik Nori has 55.56 percent of the votes.
For the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District Board of Trustees, April Northrup has 30.74 percent of the vote, while Jackee Bruno has 24.69 percent, David Koss has 22.64 percent and lastly, Gopal Ratnam has 21.93 percent.
Meanwhile, for the Jefferson Elementary School District, Anthony Tsujisaka leads the top spots with 31.86 percent of the vote, Shakeel Ali 26.69 percent, Aaron Rashba 24.97 percent and Amro Radwan 16.48 percent.
For the Ravenswood City School District, Laura Nuñez currently has 32.31 percent of the votes, while Mele Kasavu Latu has 25.10 percent, Tamara Sobomehin has 24.92 percent and Manuel R. Lopez has 17.67 percent.
In the case of the San Carlos school district, Tracy Park has 30 percent of the vote, a figure close to her top contender Sarah Johnson Kinahan, who has so far 28.39 percent.
For the San Mateo-Foster City School District, Kenneth Chin has a significant advantage with 71.71 percent of the vote, over his challenger Randi Paynter, who has 28.29 percent.
Finally, in the case of the Woodside school district, Jenny Hayden has so far 26.45 percent of the votes, Amanda Peiffer 24.61 percent, Brett Westervelt 19.44 percent, William Dunn 15.57 percent, and finally, Ricky L Yost has 13.93 percent.
