City of Mico, Mico. Marco Antonio Cruz L ez, friend, colleague, mentor of Mexican photojournalism and coordinator of Fotograf of the magazine Proceso and documentary filmmaker with more than 40 years of experience, died on the afternoon of this Friday, April 2, south of the City of Mico.
Originally from Puebla, Puebla (1957) Marco Antonio Cruz was a graphic reporter founder of the newspaper La Jornada (1984), editor of the agency Imagenlatina (1986) which Directed by me from 1987 to 2003.
Imagenlatina was founded by Marco Antonio Cruz alongside Pedro Valtierra, Andr Garay, Rub Pax, Her Alem and Arturo Fuentes. He began his career with the great Mexican photojournalist Hôtor Garc , for whom Marco Antonio continued as a mentor and precursor of the new Mexican photojournalism, which combines informative elements with a personal style, revolutionizing the country's photojournalistic and photodocumentary work.

With his lens, Marco Antonio Cruz was a generous witness to the great political, social and cultural changes in Mexico. He was also a sharp caricaturist, always critical of political and economic power. The world has not only lost a great photographer, but also a great human being and friend who will be missed.
