
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at the Moonridge Housing Community, a farmworker development in Half Moon Bay, where a man was left with gunshot wounds.
According to a release, on Saturday, January 20, at approximately 7:09 p.m., San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting in the vicinity of Tea Rd. and Pear Orchard Way in the Moonridge Housing Community, located on the unincorporated coast of the county south of Half Moon Bay.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While the incident occurred on the first anniversary of the January 23, 2023 Half Moon Bay farm massacre that left seven farmworkers dead, preliminary investigation has led detectives to believe it was an isolated incident.
This is an ongoing investigation and the Sheriff's Office will provide updates as more information becomes available.
