California is a beacon of hope for immigrants around the world and we are excited to showcase our global community to the world, right here in our own backyard as hosts of the World Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santa Clara City Councilwoman Karen Hardy said, \u201cHosting an event like the FIFA World Cup is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us and all soccer-loving Santa Clara residents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis will bring a jolt of excitement to our community, but it will also be a significant economic boost for businesses that are coming out of two years of COVID-19 right now and need it more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Al Guido, Chairman of the San Francisco 49ers and Chairman of the Bay Area Host Committee Board, \u201cOver the past eight years, innovative technology, sustainability and fan-centric design elements have cemented Levi&#039;s Stadium among the nation&#039;s premier sports and entertainment venues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis place was made to host events like the FIFA World Cup, an event that will generate continued economic activity for our region for the next four years and beyond,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that this week\u2019s announcement follows decades of enthusiasm for soccer in the Bay Area, including the highest youth participation ever and a passionate fan base for the San Jose Earthquakes, the local professional team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHosting FIFA World Cup matches in the Bay Area will not only attract visitors from around the world to experience what our region has to offer, but will reinvigorate the San Jos\u00e9 Earthquakes\u2019 ongoing efforts to grow the sport in our communities,\u201d said Jared Shawlee, team president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to San Jose, other host cities for the 2026 World Cup in the US will include Los Angeles, Kansas, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami and New York\/New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in Canada the venues will be Toronto and Vancouver, and in Mexico, Guadalajara \u2012Akron Stadium\u2012, Monterrey \u2012BBVA Stadium\u2012 and Mexico City \u2012Azteca Stadium\u2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be interested in: <a href=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/en\/alexander-wang-the-rebel-billionaire\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/es_mx\/alexandr-wang-el-rebelde-multimillonario\/\">Alexandr Wang: Silicon Valley's youngest billionaire rebel<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Federaci\u00f3n Internacional de F\u00fatbol -FIFA- anunci\u00f3 la selecci\u00f3n del \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda de San Francisco como comunidad anfitriona oficial con su Levi&#8217;s Stadium para la Copa Mundial 2026, que se jugar\u00e1 conjuntamente en Canad\u00e1, M\u00e9xico y EE.UU.
