A green wave will take place this July 4 in the city of San Francisco with a protest for the right to abortion, in the midst of celebrations for the US Independence Day, after women's freedom to decide about their bodies has been undermined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green-clad protesters are expected to attend the \u201cNational Day of Protest: When Women Are Not Free\u201d event on Monday, which begins at 5 p.m. at the Ferry Building in San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wearing green symbolizes the designated international color for abortion rights, said Rise Up for Abortion Rights Bay Area organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some participants will wear Fourth of July-themed costumes expressing anger over the Supreme Court's recent ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, the organization said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demonstration is one of a series that will take place across the country on July 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cities that will have this same deployment include Washington DC, New York, Asheville and Charlotte in North Carolina, Atlanta, Austin, Birmingham in Alabama, Bloomington in Indiana, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland and 36 other cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
