This July 8th it was the turn of <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/7IkZfvp7xIFJm7g9gmbZg1?si=1-BywEW6T_ayNB_ix9CFBQ?si=BUZFNjT7SaaW8gsXcroJkQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SF People<\/a>The event, which was held at the esplanade of the San Mateo County Museum of History, brought out the cumbia rhythm to those who gathered there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a fusion of reggae, salsa, hip-hop, reggaeton and, of course, cumbia, the Bay Area-born group immediately set the mood. Despite temperatures reaching 80 degrees Fahrenheit \u2014 or perhaps because of it \u2014 the passion with which they performed their music inspired people to dance without fear of embarrassment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only Latinos or people of Hispanic origin, but many of those who identify as white\u2014because in the United States everything has to do with race\u2014danced the cumbia and salsa of La Gente SF as if the music could make them forget that since July 1st in California the price of gasoline is more than six dollars a gallon, which has caused an increase in the prices of all products.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"cumbia rhythm\" class=\"wp-image-11459\" width=\"696\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-696x392.jpg 696w, https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Music-on-the-square-1068x601.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><figcaption>Musical group \u00abLa Gente SF\u00bb Photo: Irma Gallo P360P<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fridays at Music On The Square are a party: groups of friends, couples and entire families \u2014including pets\u2014 arrived at 3 pm with their chairs, tables, coolers and tablecloths to set up their picnic and enjoy the concert with all kinds of food: from guacamole and tacos to pizza, and of course, a good selection of cheeses, seeds and fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although glass bottles are banned, alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine are allowed. And although local vendors offer wine in plastic cups, many managed to sneak in a nice Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, because, of course, it would be sacrilege not to accompany good music with some of the delicious wines produced in California.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The concert ended at 8pm.
