Peninsula 360 Press.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Around <strong>15 vehicles drove through downtown Redwood City<\/strong> this Sunday morning adorned with phosphorescent posters and pink balloons with painted eyes and blue mouthguards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who drove the cars were honking their horns and waving to the passers-by on the street to attract attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\"This is a caravan to pay tribute to the real heroes in this pandemic, and to raise awareness in the community about the need to continue using the mask.\"<\/em>He said <strong>Ver\u00f3nica Esc\u00e1mez, Director of Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural<\/strong>The organization responsible for the event, <strong>along with the We Vote Redwood City organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the front of the long line was a red MINI Cooper, followed by a grey pickup truck pulling a trailer with <strong>a huge coronavirus sculpture<\/strong> from <strong>Mexican artist based in Redwood City Fernando Esc\u00e1rtiz<\/strong>, <strong>supported by Japanese artist Yoshinori Asai<\/strong>&nbsp;and the creative group from the art class at Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The green and pink coronavirus had on this five superheroes representing <strong>the ethnic diversity<\/strong> of the people who have dealt with the virus <strong>SARS-CoV-2<\/strong> from their different professions and trades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The red-eyed, angry coronavirus looked down on the superheroes that threaten its existence. In the center, and almost on what would be the virus' forehead, <strong>Wonder Woman<\/strong> dressed in blue and white to represent <strong>doctors and nurses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Batman<\/strong>On his right side, dressed in black and blue, standing by the security sector: the sheriff's office and the police department. On the left side, Captain America dressed in gray with phosphorescent yellow to represent the uniform of <strong>fire department and paramedics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Superman<\/strong>The logo of the post office, in the back row on the right side, but instead of a red S on the chest, the logo of the post office to honour the <strong>home delivery men<\/strong> that they haven't stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same way, at the back, but on the left side, a large&nbsp;<strong>Hulk<\/strong>&nbsp;with the torn pants of the original character, but with sun-baked skin and, in his hand, a box of vegetables and a pesticide, to represent all the <strong>farmers and farm workers<\/strong>without whose labour the daily bread would not reach our table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\"We have to remind people that the pandemic is unfortunately not over and we have to take care of each other. We decided to use humor and art to send a strong message that could save lives: <strong>put on your mask<\/strong>\u00bb<\/em>said Esc\u00e1mez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking advantage of the great commotion caused by the motorcade and the huge coronavirus with the super heroes on top, <strong>Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural and We Vote Redwood City invited people to participate in the 2020 census <\/strong>and register to vote in the next election.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alrededor de 15 veh\u00edculos circularon por el centro de&nbsp;Redwood&nbsp;City la ma\u00f1ana de este domingo adornados de carteles fosforescentes y globos rosas con ojos pintados y cubrebocas azules.
