I am 17 years old and, like many my age, I am concerned about my future and the challenges facing my generation. What gives me hope? This election gives the people of San Mateo a strong leader for our future: Noelia Corzo for San Mateo County Supervisor<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Voters need a leader who has experience, who is a good role model with vision, and who represents the voices of ALL residents. Noelia Corzo is the candidate who is qualified for this role.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Noelia currently serves as a Trustee for the San Mateo-Foster City School District. From developing and managing budgets, to stepping up to meet the needs of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, to founding the Sanctuary Task Force to support our immigrant families, she is an experienced, knowledgeable, and trusted leader with the dedication and passion to look out for the best interests of all.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In this election for San Mateo County Supervisor, voters have the opportunity to make a crucial choice regarding what our priorities will be for the future of our county. Ms. Corzo\u2019s priorities include housing, mental health, women\u2019s rights, public safety and police accountability, education and child care, climate action, gun safety, inflation recovery, and seamless transit services.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At a time when young people are struggling with mental health issues, gun violence is at an all-time high, and we are concerned about our ability to make a living in a world grappling with a climate emergency, we need a strong leader with these priorities like Noelia Corzo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And in a representative democracy, we need a leader who can represent all of us who live here in this diverse and amazing county. Noelia Corzo was born in San Mateo and has lived the experience of being the daughter of immigrants, a social worker, a single mother, and a survivor of gun violence. She has experienced the challenges of being a working class person, and the struggle to find affordable housing, and supporting a family with mental health issues.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Voters need a County Supervisor who is well-informed, who listens to everyone\u2019s concerns, and who serves as a voice for those who have not felt heard. Noelia has lived experience and understands firsthand the challenges that so many in our country have faced. Her presence and experience on the board will be instrumental in shaping policy from her lens \u2013 a lens she has because she has lived experiences that others do not.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

San Mateo County deserves a leader who is a model of honesty, integrity, and respect. Someone who bases their decisions on the interest and support of the people of their county. Please support us in giving a voice and hope for all of our future. Please encourage anyone who votes in San Mateo District 2 (San Mateo, Foster City, northern Belmont) to vote for Noelia Corzo for County Supervisor. What we elect at all levels of government matters.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
