Three artists will present their unique ideas for the mural that will decorate the North Fair Oaks community at a public meeting on Tuesday, February 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These presentations by the three artists will be open to the public, whether they want to come in person to the North Fair Oaks Library located at 2510 Middlefield Road or through a virtual meeting through the Zoom platform from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winning proposal will ultimately adorn a series of panels along Fifth Avenue as the street dips beneath the Caltrain tracks between El Camino Real and Middlefield Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLast year we asked the community a series of questions about what they would like to see at this highly visible location, focusing on what a healthy community looks like,\u201d said Robin Rodricks, executive director of the County Office of Arts and Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese three proposals were selected as finalists from a pool of 15 that were wonderful and interesting,\u201d Rodricks added. \u201cIt was difficult to find three finalists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the community meeting, finalists Morgan Bricca, Emily Fromm and Isabel Gomez will give insight into their projects, explain techniques and why they came up with those concepts for North Fair Oaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the presentations, residents will have the opportunity to provide input at the North Fair Oaks Library or through the link www.tinyurl.com\/NFOMuralMeeting2<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth recalling that last year, the Board of Supervisors gave the green light to the Healthy Community Mural project to \u201cbring pride and beauty to the North Fair Oaks community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the advice of the NFO Cultural Collective and the North Fair Oaks Community Council, the Healthy Community Mural Project Committee will recommend an artist to San Mateo County for consideration, who will review and approve the final selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected artist is expected to complete the mural this summer, and a public celebration will be planned following its completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
