This was announced tonight by the US president through his Twitter account. Trump would have held a debate between candidates for the U.S. presidency on Wednesday against his Democratic opponent Joe Biden, what <strong>puts his presidential re-election campaign in jeopardy with only 33 days to go before the country's elections.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that U.S. President Donald J. Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, were tested for COVID-19 after being in contact with one of his aides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through his Twitter account, <strong>the president confirmed that the test result was positive for the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. <\/strong>which causes the disease COVID-19 - the origin of which was detected in a maritime market in the Wuhan region of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tweet was posted at 9:54 p.m. Pacific time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/realdonaldtrump\/status\/1311892190680014849?s=12\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the tweet, the president mentions that: <em>\"Tonight, @FLOTUS - official account of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump - and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately - we'll get through this TOGETHER!\"<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was followed by Melania Trump's statements: <em>\"Like many Americans this year,<br>@potus - the official account of the President of the United States - and I are under quarantine at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We feel fine and I have postponed all my upcoming engagements.
