A group of 20 Hispanics were awarded for completing a training process to develop a Business Plan that lasted 12 weeks, promoted by the program Renaissance<\/a> Based in East Palo Alto, the organization promotes small business entrepreneurship and initiatives that contribute to the country in North Fair Oaks, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and Redwood City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by relatives of the winners, special guests and local authorities, who motivated the initiative of each of the winners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Rub\u00e9n Abrica, councilman for East Palo Alto, highlighted the importance of preparing for the creation of micro-enterprises because "the basis of the economy is small businesses, micro-businesses that do different jobs," he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Menlo Park Mayor Jem Wolosin said businesses are very important, especially small ones. \u201cIt\u2019s very important to see that they are working hard on initiatives to get ahead.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by special guests Mar and Sol Alvarado, a successful entrepreneur who helps the Hispanic community and is passionate about managing companies, which inspired her to learn business at Menlo College.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alvarado noted that she is one of many immigrant stories in California, USA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

"The day has been hard, but it is possible. The tools that one needs are persistence, focus and passion. If you do something with passion, you don't really work any day. For me it is an honor to give myself the space to share my story. Tomorrow they will start a new project, it is easy to say, but it is difficult to do, nothing is done alone, it can be achieved," Alvarado emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n
