Child killed and man hospitalized in a shooting last Saturday night near San Jose State University, according to police.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly before 9 p.m., San Jose police responded to a report that someone had been shot near East William and South 10th streets.<\/span><\/p>\n

When they arrived at the scene, officers found a man and a child who had been shot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both were taken to a hospital and while the man is expected to survive, the boy died, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

None of the victims' names were released.<\/span><\/p>\n

The motive for the shooting and the circumstances that led to it are being investigated.<\/span><\/p>\n
