Due to covid restrictions and protocols, we will be having a one-day Aloha Concert in the Bay Area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The free event, hosted by the Pacific Islander Cultural Association, will take place on August 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the San Mateo County Events Center (SMCEC), located at 1346 Saratoga Drive in San Mateo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aloha Festival will be held entirely outdoors. The entertainment stage is in front of the Central Mall Lawn area, food vendors will be in the west parking lot, and community booths and craft vendors will be in and around the Central Mall Lawn area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The east parking lot at 1346 Saratoga Drive is the parking lot that all attendees must use and costs $18 per vehicle. Walk to the entrance at Gate 8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of note, the west parking lot is strictly for food vendor stands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event will feature workshops, for which registration is not required. All are generally free unless they have a material or supply component.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the workshops are music-oriented, so bring your own ukulele, sing and play! A workshop schedule will be available at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pica-org.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">web site<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and you can also consult at the Information Desk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcohol is not welcome at the Aloha Festival, which is known for its relaxed atmosphere that welcomes family and friends of multiple generations, from keiki (young children) to kupuna (elders) and everyone in between.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcohol is not served or permitted on the premises. In addition, illegal drugs, glass containers and weapons are prohibited on the premises. Security guards will inspect coolers, backpacks and purses.
