A 20-year-old Redwood City man has been charged with assault with a baseball bat after a man was hit in the head with a bat while walking in the North Central section of San Mateo, police said Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alfredo Prieto Martinez fled the area of North Railroad Avenue near Tilton Avenue after the attack around 5:24 p.m. Thursday, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities found the victim with a cut on his head and bleeding from his mouth. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Officers were able to get a description of Prieto Martinez, the car he left in, and the direction he was going. He was found in Redwood City, where he was arrested.<\/span><\/p>\n
