This Monday, March 25, will be Beth Goldberg's first day in office as the new CFO of Redwood City<\/a>, who with more than 25 years of experience shaping the fiscal and policy landscape of complex public sector agencies, will bring a wealth of experience to his role.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement was made by City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz, who noted that Goldberg\u2019s track record of success in financial planning, negotiations and fostering positive work environments aligns perfectly with Redwood City\u2019s commitment to excellence and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to have Beth join our team as Chief Financial Officer,\u201d said Stevenson Diaz. \u201cShe is a highly capable executive and her dedication to fiscal responsibility will be instrumental as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead, paving the way for a bright and sustainable future for Redwood City.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Goldberg has served as Budget Director for the City of Seattle, Director of Administrative Services for the City of Sammamish, Finance Director for the City of Issaquah, and Deputy City Manager for the City of Kirkland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Career highlights include his influential role in transforming the City of Issaquah\u2019s finance department, where he re-implemented enterprise resource planning systems to improve customer service and financial operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also played a crucial role in Seattle's recovery from the Great Recession, navigating multi-billion dollar deficits and implementing strategies to expand investments in critical infrastructure and services.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to join the Redwood City team as Chief Financial Officer,\u201d said Beth Goldberg. \u201cI look forward to leveraging my experience and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure fiscal stewardship and drive positive change within the community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Goldberg's accomplishments extend beyond financial management, as he has demonstrated an ability to advance strategic priorities and foster stakeholder collaboration, the city said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

His experience negotiating complex agreements and developing innovative solutions will be invaluable as Redwood City continues to grow and evolve, he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her professional achievements, Beth Goldberg holds a Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis.<\/span><\/p>\n
