Foto: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.affordableredwoodcity.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Affordable Redwood City<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Listen to this note:<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-24615-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Viviana-4523738.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Viviana-4523738.mp3\">https:\/\/peninsula360press.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Viviana-4523738.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El ayuntamiento de Redwood City inform\u00f3 que la solicitud de varias coaliciones civiles para que en la boleta electoral de noviembre se pueda decidir sobre una propuesta de resoluci\u00f3n de control de alquileres ha sido rechazada por no contar con el n\u00famero de firmas requeridas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As\u00ed, este lunes 8 de julio, la Oficina Electoral del Condado de San Mateo inform\u00f3 que complet\u00f3 la verificaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 6 mil firmas de una petici\u00f3n comunitaria para imponer un control adicional de los alquileres y l\u00edmites de desahucio por causa justa en Redwood City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLa petici\u00f3n no alcanz\u00f3 el n\u00famero de firmas requerido para que la iniciativa reuniera los requisitos para su inclusi\u00f3n en la papeleta electoral de noviembre de 2024\u201d, precis\u00f3 en un breve comunicado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el texto se lee que los proponentes presentaron la petici\u00f3n ante el secretario municipal el 21 de mayo de 2024, y tras realizar un recuento preliminar de las firmas de la petici\u00f3n, el secretario municipal determin\u00f3 que la petici\u00f3n reun\u00eda los requisitos para ser sometida a una revisi\u00f3n de verificaci\u00f3n de firmas por parte de la Oficina Electoral del Condado de San Mateo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tras una revisi\u00f3n exhaustiva de cada firma, precis\u00f3, la Oficina Electoral del Condado determin\u00f3 que muchos de los firmantes de la petici\u00f3n no eran votantes registrados dentro de la jurisdicci\u00f3n de Redwood City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al respecto, el secretario municipal emiti\u00f3 un aviso de insuficiencia a los proponentes de la petici\u00f3n este mismo 8 de julio.
