Peninsula 360 Press [P360P].<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in Peninsula 360 Press, Chevron is responsible for the spill of at least 500 gallons - 2,000 liters - of an oil mixture at its refining plant in the city of Richmond, in Contra Costa County, east of the San Francisco Bay Area on Feb. 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peninsula 360 Press contacted Councilwoman Claudia Jimenez of Richmond's 6th District to hear her position on the second spill caused by fossil fuel company Chevron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jimenez points out that there must be a just transition to allow access to renewable energy, repair the damage caused to the environment and, if the closure of the Chrevron Long Wharf refinery is contemplated, ensure that these jobs are not lost, but, above all, that before its closure, the origin of the habitat that is currently threatened by diesel and other harmful agents is respected.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Entrevista a concejala Claudia Jim\u00e9nez Cristian Carlos.
