The nonprofit Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural has become the heart of the Latino community in Redwood City and through classes, workshops and events, it fosters social change that, according to its philosophy, can be achieved through collaboration, training and civic engagement of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art, culture, language and Hispanic traditions are the backbone of Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural and in 2022 they will continue their noble work by offering classes for children where they can acquire physical and artistic skills in Tae Kwon Do, boxing, folk dance, Latin rhythms, theater, art, crafts, guitar and piano (for beginners and intermediates).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it is not only the little ones who will be able to enjoy the educational offer of Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural, as there are also classes for adults in which they can exercise, such as zumba, salsercise, folk dance and boxing, but, if what they want is to exploit their creativity, they also have classes in painting, cutting and sewing as well as cross-stitch and knitting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2021, Redwood City was able to experience the Day of the Dead thanks to the great work done by volunteers, teachers, choreographers and students led by Ver\u00f3nica Esc\u00e1mez, director and founder of Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural. They all organize and supervise every detail to immerse the county in one of the most important traditions of Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 2022, in addition to the Day of the Dead, all members of Casa C\u00edrculo have events planned for the county. Although they do not yet have all the details, we can tell you in advance that some of them will be: a Children's Day kerm\u00e9s in collaboration with the Latino Community Council of Redwood City and that will take place on May 1, the anniversary gala of Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural in May or June and the children's business fair event in the summer, the July 4th parade, a summer camp in possible collaboration with the Broadway by the Bay theater company or possibly a Spanish immersion summer camp to explore creativity as well as motivate the empowerment of low-income youth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural is also likely to collaborate with the Latino Community Council of Redwood City for the Fiestas Patrias celebration in September and with the Redwood City Downtown Business Group to organize the Hometown Holidays parade in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Children's Business Fair, children will be able to develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy and then open their own business for a day. A great opportunity to develop their talent and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the events already mentioned that Casa C\u00edrculo offers to the entire community of the county, its members enjoy internal events, among which there are demonstrations of their classes and gatherings on the occasion of some Mexican and Latin traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, this January 6, they carried out the "day of the bread roll," a Mexican tradition in which each member breaks off a piece of a bread roll, and only a few lucky ones (or not so lucky) find a small doll of baby Jesus in their slice. In tradition, those who pulled out the doll must prepare tamales for "Candlemas Day," which is celebrated on February 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to its internal and external community events, Casa C\u00edrculo Cultural has monthly programs worth considering, such as its \u201cArt on Wheels\u201d program, in which they carry out art activities for children on a van. They do this every Saturday in a different park in the county, which they announce days in advance on their social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if this were not enough, CCC is also interested in demonstrating the skills that its students develop and acquire, so throughout the year they also carry out presentations at different locations, which they broadcast in advance on their social networks, so follow them on Facebook (Casa Circulo Cultural) and Instagram (@casa_circulo_cultural) and don't lose track of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
