Bay City News

Berkeley homeowners can apply for up to $3,000 in earthquake seismic retrofit grants from the city.

Income-qualified households may be reimbursed for the full cost of a seismic improvement to their home, while others may qualify for up to $3,000 to make their foundation more earthquake resistant.

To qualify for a lottery and get these rebates, Berkeley homeowners can sign up for the state's rebate program. Earthquake Brace + Bolt before November 29.

Those households with annual income below $72,080 may qualify for up to 100 percent of the cost of seismic retrofit.
