At Peninsula 360 Press, we join in the demand of the Jewish, Palestinian, and Latin American communities and other residents of Redwood City to halt the genocide of the Palestinian people by the government of Israel, with the financial support of the United States.
On February 26th, at the regular meeting of the Redwood City Council, a group of residents once again urged them to sign a resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, where more than 30,000 trapped people, many of them children, women, and doctors, have been killed.
The genocide of the Palestinian people also has a devastating emotional and moral impact on our communities in Redwood City.
Moreover, we know that this genocide would not be possible without funding from the United States government, and we do not want our taxes, earned through hard work, to be used to eradicate any people.
Opposing the genocide of the Palestinian people is not antisemitic, but quite the opposite. The Jewish people suffered a genocide, and international agreements were made after that to prevent another genocide against any people.
Councilmembers of Redwood City, we expect you to rise to the occasion of this historic moment and sign the resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Mayor of Redwood City, Jeff Gee, through years of intense work, you have earned the support and affection of the Latin American community in this city, and this same community now respectfully asks you to take a firm stance for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
