Half Moon Bay is celebrating and everyone is invited to a special reception to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the town that was incorporated in 1959.
This celebration will take place prior to the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ted Adcock Community Center located at 535 Kelly Avenue.
Join your community neighbors for refreshments and celebrate 65 incredible years since the city's incorporation.
After the reception, the regular meeting of the City Council will take place starting at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to stay for the meeting.
Agenda highlights include Pride Month proclamation, Juneteenth recognition, BID public meeting, priority work plan update, budget adoption for the year fiscal 24-25 and the presentation of possible electoral measures.

Half Moon Bay was incorporated as a city in 1959, an important milestone in the area's history as it marked a transition from an unincorporated community to a formal, legal municipality.
With incorporation, Half Moon Bay gained greater autonomy and provided its own government, police, fire, and other services. In turn, it allowed the city to tap additional state and federal funds for public works projects, such as roads and public facilities.
The above allowed Half Moon Bay to be a city of greater development and commercial activity, which has contributed to the growth of the local economy over time and transformed it into a vibrant destination for those seeking to explore the beauty of the coast of California.
