Agents arrested the attacker who stabbed a person several times on a bus in North Fair Oaks on Tuesday night, the Office of the Attorney General's Office reported. San Mateo County Sheriff.
In a statement, authorities detailed that, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported altercation aboard a SamTrans bus near the intersection of Middlefield Road and 5th Avenue in County of unincorporated San Mateo (North Fair Oaks).
The incident, he said, caused serious injuries to the victim, who was stabbed several times and taken to an area hospital for immediate medical attention.
He also stated that, within three minutes of receiving the call, San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies successfully located and detained the suspect. At present, he said, there is no indication of other individuals involved and there is no threat to the public.
Authorities noted that the suspect is now in custody and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation is underway.
"The Sheriff's Office is working diligently to gather all pertinent information and will provide an update on the identity of the suspect and specific charges booked tomorrow," he stressed.
