The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, said "it is a shame and a shame" after what happened at the Corregidora stadium in the state of Querétaro, Mexico. However, the official figures released by authorities contradict the information that circulated for hours on social networks, where family members in local media reported that at least 17 people died after the riots at the Mexican soccer league match. Some media outlets stated that the statements made by family members were the responsibility of the person issuing them.
Meanwhile, the criminal system of the state of Queretaro initiated the corresponding investigation files to find those responsible for the violence caused in the state of Corregidora, it is established that the culprits will be punished for crimes of attempted homicide.
The governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, was in communication with the fans of the Mexican soccer team Atlas, who transmitted the official figures from Kuri an hour earlier. He said that the families of the victims will have the support of the Jalisco state government. He said he was aware of the violent images that were released on social networks, fearing the possibility of deaths.
So far, the Mexican soccer season is partially suspended. Users on social networks condemned what happened after learning that the remaining soccer matches of the entire season would not be definitively suspended, and demanded that the brands sponsoring these events withdraw their sponsorships.
