Are you looking for a new job and are you interested in public service? Your time has come, because this coming August 2, the San Mateo County will host the 2024 Summer Public Service Career Fair.
"Whether you are looking for professional growth, a rewarding position or an opportunity to contribute to the greater good, this job fair is the perfect opportunity to explore the possibilities," said County Human Resources Director Rocio Kiryczun.
And, he said, there are many public sector jobs to choose from: health care, law enforcement, social services, administration, civil engineering, among many others.
?Every job has purpose and meaning, and every day you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. What could be more gratifying than that?, the official stressed.
The fair will be held on Friday, August 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 500 County Center in Redwood City. The free, outdoor event will include a diverse range of public sector employers, including county departments.
In addition to employer booths, the fair will include food trucks and an ice cream vendor.
Parking is free in the county parking structure, but limited, so attendees are encouraged to use Caltrain or other public transportation. County Center is located just a few blocks from the Redwood City Caltrain station.
This event is the county's second public service job fair; the first, last October, focused on veterans, military personnel and their families.
Participating employers will include Behavioral Health and Recovery Services – San Mateo County Health; San Mateo County Human Resources; San Mateo County Child Support Services; the San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities; and the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls.
