Trump concedes defeat, Biden begins transition

Once again, through his Twitter account, outgoing President Donald Trump, who lost the presidential election in the November 3 elections, accepts his defeat twenty days later before the victory of his opponent from the Democratic Party, Joe Biden:

"I want to thank Emily Murphy of the GSA for her unwavering dedication and loyalty to our country. She has been harassed, threatened and abused? I don't want to see this happen to her, her family or GSA employees," he said in the first part of his thread.

The General Services Administration is an independent agency of the U.S. government established in 1949 to help manage and sustain the basic operation of the agencies of the federal government; specifically, it is an agency that mediates resources and is responsible for establishing interdependent communication.

The GSA clearance is a critical process for the president-elect and his incoming administration to begin the essential work required for an orderly transition; it involves the release of post-election financial resources required to maintain seamless government operations.

Later, in another tweet, he instructed his cabinet to begin work on the initial protocol for the change of incoming administration, that of Joe Biden:

"We will continue to put up a fight and I believe we will prevail," he threatened. "However, in the best interests of our country, I advise Emily and her team to do what is necessary with respect to the initial protocols, and I have instructed my team to conduct themselves in the same manner," the current president ordered.

As head of the U.S. General Services Administration, I have the ability under the Presidential Transition Act of 1963, as amended, to make available to you certain post-election resources and services to assist in the process in the event of a presidential transition," Murphy said in a letter to Biden. "I take this position very seriously and, due to recent developments involving ?legal challenges and certifications of election results,? I am transmitting this letter today to make such resources and services available to you," he said.

However, since it became known that former U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, GSA Administrator Emily W. Murphy had been receiving threats if the agency refused to provide the incoming administration with the resources needed for the change in administration.

"I was never pressured, directly or indirectly, by any Executive Branch official, including those working at The White House or GSA regarding the nature or timing of my decision. To be clear: I received no instructions to delay my resolution. However, I did receive threats online, via phone and mail targeting my safety, my family, my staff and even my pets in an effort to coerce me into making this decision prematurely. Even in the face of thousands of threats, I was always committed to upholding the law," Murphy said.

With that letter, the president-elect, winner of the November 3 general election, can begin the presidential inauguration process that begins on January 20, the day he will visit the White House as an honored guest and begin his term in the Oval Office.
