After losing starting passer Jimmy Garoppolo, star running back Raheem Mostert and defensive end Nick Bosa to injury in last week's win, the San Francisco Forty-Niners visited MetLife Stadium with questions about the team's makeup, but among the positive news was that the opponent was one of the league's worst.

The New York Giants, who had lost their previous two games to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears, were depleted heading into their matchup with California after news that star wide receiver Saquon Barkley would miss the rest of the session.

The game started with Nick Mullens throwing accurately and actively gaining yards for the Forty-Niners offense. The backup quarterback, now the starter, completed 25 of 36 passes, one for a touchdown and 343 yards.

The passer's numbers and Jerrick MacKinnon's 18 carries helped the visitors dominate every quarter of the game, including the final quarter in which they blanked the Giants 13-0.

For its part, the New Jersey franchise does not find the formula to help them win games, because the offense does not work beyond the quarterback, Daniel Jones, who had to lead the team with items that do not correspond to him, such as yards per carry, where he got 49 yards on five attempts, in addition to completing 17 of 32 passes for 179 yards and an interception.

San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to return to practice this Monday or Tuesday after spraining his ankle against the New York Jets last week. In addition, Nick Bosa was confirmed out for the entire session and underwent surgery to repair a knee ligament injury.

The next NFL game will pit the San Francisco Forty-Niners against the Philadelphia Eagles, a game that is predicted to be another victory for the Bay Area team.

For their part, the New York Giants will look to turn around their 0-3 streak in a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, a team that lost to the Buffalo Bills at the last minute on Sunday.
