Marco Antonio Samillán decided to go to the demonstration in his uniform as a doctor, his second career after biology, to help the wounded. He knew that he would run the risk of being injured or poisoned by tear gas, but he never thought that he would die from a bullet in the back. His sister Isabel believes he was shot by a sniper, because the shot was so precise. “He was the fourth person killed, and during the time he was helping, there were about 50 wounded. They were helping a lot of people. I think the police didn’t like that. Why did they kill him like that? While he was in uniform? That’s what we still don’t understand. That’s our struggle now: to get justice for my brother,” says Isabel.
