Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) officials said power outages could be in effect in small portions of 16 counties Tuesday night due to forecasts of possible dry winds and wildfires.
The wind combined with drought conditions and extremely dry vegetation increases the risk of forest fires, which is why PG&E has issued 48-hour advance notices to customers of specific areas where energy supplies may be affected.
