The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in connection with several sex crimes.
Miguel Mez-Mar , 21, was arrested on suspicion of rape, sodom of a minor under 16, sex with a minor under 16 and obstructing and/or resisting an officer, the authority said.
They also detailed that in May, detectives began an investigation for sexual assault when they learned that Médez-Mar had been involved in a romantic relationship with a 14-year-old minor in September and October 2020.
Agents said Mez-Mar engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor and forcibly raped the victim against her will in a separate incident.
On Wednesday, detectives attempted to arrest Mez-Mar at his home in San Mateo, but he resisted. He was eventually arrested and jailed.
