A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for raping 3 different women in San Mateo County in 2020, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Alejandro Guevara was convicted in December of multiple counts of forcible rape and other sexual assault charges that took place in June, July and August 2020, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.
Guevara was arrested at his mother's Redwood City home following an August 2020 case in which a woman in her 60s was found raped and beaten unconscious along El Camino Real in San Mateo.
Witnesses provided a detailed description of the suspect and investigators found video at a nearby business that showed a clear view of the shooter, San Mateo police said.
Prosecutors then charged Guevara with two additional violations: one in July near the main library in Redwood City and another in June in the Caltrain parking lot in Redwood City.
After being convicted in a jury trial, a San Mateo County Superior Court judge on Monday sentenced Guevara to 90 years with more than 1,100 days credit for time served.
Guevara's defense attorney was not immediately available for comment on the case.
