Redwood City police arrested a 15-year-old male Wednesday in connection with firearms and narcotics offenses.
Last Wednesday around 9:48 p.m., detectives from the Police Department's Street Crimes Suppression Team contacted a group of juveniles in the 3200 block of Rollison Road.
One of the youths managed to flee from the detectives who lost sight of him and subsequently returned moments later.
Detectives extended the search area from where the juvenile had fled; at the scene, they found the narcotics trail along with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun and a cartridge containing 15 rounds of ammunition, police said.
The minor was arrested and subsequently admitted to the San Mateo County Juvenile Services Center.
