Fiestas Patrias came to Redwood City, a celebration of many Latin countries and Mexican Independence, so this Sunday, September 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be celebrated in a big way in Courthouse Square, which will be transformed into a festive, beautiful and fun setting to celebrate this important patriotic holiday in Mexican culture. 

Enjoy live music and entertainment, authentic Mexican food, arts and crafts vendors and a traditional Flag Ceremony conducted by the Consul General of Mexico. The plaza will be filled with colorful and glamorous Ballet Folklorico, live Mariachi music by Mexicanissimo, children's area, and a live performance by Las Fenix.

This is a FREE community celebration!

Join Redwood City residents for a brief history and presentation of Mexican tin folk art and make a Miracle with Rachel-Anne Palacios, a self-taught, multicultural artist whose pieces reflect her respect for culture, spirituality, the elderly and the cycle of life and death. 

You can choose to engrave a hand, a heart, a star or your own design in metal, color it with a permanent marker and take it home to hang on the wall! 

The event is recommended for ages 12 and older and takes place at the Downtown Library, located at 1044 Middlefield Road in Redwood City. The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

All materials will be provided by the Library.

You want to dance, well go practice your best moves, because one of San Francisco's most popular weekly dance parties is finally back, in North Beach! Put on your dancing shoes to enjoy the best Hip Hop and R&B songs of the 90's.

The date is at Broadway Studios in San Francisco, an incredible historic concert hall dating back to 1919. And it's right in the heart of North Beach. Located at 435 Broadway in San Francisco.

The event starts at 10:30 p.m. and tickets are $20.

Celebrating its 15th year, the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival attracts more than 3,000 artists, students, vendors and community members for a colorful day in San Jose's Backesto Park. 

Artists, students and chalk enthusiasts create more than 250 diverse works of art along the park's pathways, including original works, classical recreations, traditional Italian Madonarri street painting, realistic 3D works, cartoons, modern abstractions and more.

In addition to the artwork, the festival features a main stage of local musicians, dancers and artists, as well as local food trucks and vendor booths.

The date is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Backesto Park located at 551 N 13th Street in San Jose. The festival is free of charge.

If you have the soul of an artist, this is your moment, because there is Open Mic Night! All singers, comedians, poets, musicians and artists are welcome to showcase their talent or enjoy an evening of music, comedy and entertainment. The best performance of the night will be voted on by the audience and broadcast on television.

The event is this Saturday at 21,988 Foothill Boulevard in Hayward. The event is free of charge.

On Sunday, September 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Palo Alto Junior Museum will be open exclusively to families with children who have disabilities.

This is a time to recognize the caregivers who work so hard on behalf of their children! Children with any disability are welcome, as well as siblings and grandparents.

To create a welcoming and accommodating experience, the number of guests is limited. EVENTBRITE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.

The event is this Sunday at the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo located at 1451 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.
