San Mateo County Supervisor David J. Canepa confirmed that four people were killed in shootings in Half Moon Bay on Monday.
Through a brief statement, the official specified that the murders occurred in two separate shootings.
"First Monterey Park and now Half Moon Bay," Canepa stressed in the text, referring to the mass shooting that occurred Saturday night in a dance hall where the AAPI community was celebrating the Lunar New Year. "It's enough. How many more must die?
Canepa said that although the details of the events were still scarce, one thing was certain, that the victims had died from a firearm.
"My heart breaks for the families," he added.
The San Mateo Sheriff's Department responded to the shooting in the area of State Route 92 and the Half Moon Bay City limits, the Sheriff's Office said on Twitter.
