The San Mateo Police Department is investigating a robbery at a local business this Friday.
And it is that, this April 14, at approximately 9:19 a.m., San Mateo Police officers went to the 1900 block of S. El Camino Real for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that two unknown subjects wearing ski masks robbed a male victim at gunpoint.
The victim was uninjured. Officers quickly determined that the suspects fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The San Mateo Police Department Bureau of Investigations took over the investigation and reported that it is actively working to bring those responsible to justice.
In light of this, he encouraged anyone with information or surveillance images related to this robbery to contact Detective Sergeant Manion at (650) 522-7568 or dmanion@cityofsanmateo.org. You can also send anonymous suggestions to http://tinyurl.com/SMPDTips or by calling (650) 522-7676.
The authorities recalled that "If you see something, say something."
In that regard, police have encouraged the community to use security cameras, which they said are especially helpful in identifying suspicious activity in neighborhoods when the cameras face the street.
They explained that officers regularly request surveillance and residents can help by notifying SMPD where the cameras are located in their neighborhood to the site. http://www.cityofsanmateo.org/Nest.
