Next May 13 will be the last day that the residents of Redwood City will be able to decide on the final design for the renovation of Hoover Park, a park whose some of its amenities date back to 1966, so this new image of one of the representative places of the city is essential.
Thus, residents can review and choose between two conceptual designs through an online survey where details of each of the options are required. It should be noted that the survey is in English and Spanish.
Option 1 includes a small learning pool ?50'x25'? and a small water park ?2,180 square feet?.
The learning pool holds 2-3 beginner swim lessons and is not big enough for community swimming. It will be a seasonal pool and will only work during the warmer months of the year.
While option 2 includes a large water play structure and splash zone ?6,000 m2?, as well as active recreational areas that include volleyball, pickleball and more.
The structure would operate on the hot days of the year and does not have a limited operation due to water use restrictions during droughts, as it has a recirculating/filtering system like a swimming pool.
Both concepts address specific concerns that have been heard from the public and present different options for each.
