In order to ensure broad participation, the San Mateo County has extended the deadline to complete a survey on key community needs to Monday, August 28.
The survey "seeks to understand what San Mateo County residents need for themselves, their families, and their communities to prosper."
In a statement, the county said the results will help influence how local tax dollars from Measure K will be allocated in four key areas: Housing and Homelessness, Emergency Preparedness, Children and Families, and Mental Health. .
The survey is confidential, can be completed in approximately 10 minutes, and is available in English, Chinese, Tagalog, and Spanish.
The survey closes at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 28.
And it is that, under the direction of the Board of Supervisors, the county is collecting information through the survey and a series of community listening sessions.
Following the conclusion of the listening sessions and closure of the survey, staff will analyze the results and present the information to the Board of Supervisors and the public this fall.
Supervisors are then expected to consider a spending plan that seeks to address community needs using funds from Measure K. Measure K is a voter-approved half-cent sales tax that provides local funding for local needs .
