This Saturday is the autumn equinox, and there is no better way to celebrate than with a beer in hand. It's no coincidence that Oktoberfest is taking place in downtown Redwood City this weekend.

This event will be adorned with more than 2,000 feet of inviting “family-style” benches, creating the perfect setting for camaraderie and connection. And that is just the beginning! Prepare your jugs to have a good time with contests, music and dances that will make you celebrate big.
Although the celebration began on Wednesday, September 20, it will continue until Sunday, September 24.
Ticket prices range from $10 to $17 for all ages and $16 to $27 for ages 21 and older. This includes a commemorative mug and a drink ticket (beer or soft drink depending on ticket type). Special VIP tables for 6 people are also available, offered for $255.
From this Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24, The Internationals Band and Bayerischer Heimat und Trachtenverein (formerly Golden Gate Bavarian Club) will perform as dance artists and game presenters.
Downtown Redwood City's Oktoberfest extravaganza offers delicious, authentic German food, including pretzels and brats, along with a tempting cold beer.
Dancing, singing and extensive audience participation will include dance contests, jug celebrations, yodeling contests, skits using hand gestures to select songs, among many other games, not to mention many variations of the “international” dance of the chicken.
