Holiday fans, the favorite season of many has arrived. It's time for Christmas cheer! And Redwood City is joining in with its annual Holly Jolly home decorating contest, which celebrates its fourth consecutive year in 2023.
The deadline to participate is December 15 at 11:59 p.m., or when a maximum of 50 houses are reached, whichever comes first.
Participation is free!
So, grab those jingle-worthy sweaters, dig out those Christmas decorations from hibernation, and get ready for this highly anticipated contest.
Decorate your walls, roofs and patios with an impressive display of lights and inflatables, and let your Christmas spirit shine! It doesn't matter if you're into the festive cheer of Christmas, the delights of Hanukkah, the joy of Kwanzaa, or any other magical holiday.
The Redwood City Teen Advisory Council will be on the hunt for the most joyful displays, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be selected under the categories:
- Cheerful and Bright: bright! In this category everything revolves around the lights.
- Christmas Spirit: Is your house brimming with Christmas cheer?
- Incredible inflatables: Whose house has the hottest air?
And one lucky winner… the most coveted prize: The Jury's Favorite!
The prize includes a gift certificate to Parks and Recreation, an impressive yard sign to proudly display in front of your house (bragging rights included, of course), and possibly a few other surprises!
