The community of Redwood City has asked the city council for full support to issue a resolution demanding a complete ceasefire in Gaza, in addition to demanding that citizens' taxes not be used to support the state of Israel's war against the Hamas group. and which has caused the death of more than 20 thousand Palestinians, many of them children and women.

During the last general meeting of the Redwood City Council, held on Monday, December 18, a group of people were present to demand to be heard and supported, asking local officials to support a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The different voices said that taxes cannot be allowed to continue sponsoring this genocide that Israel is carrying out in Gaza, This was pointed out by Manuel Ortiz during the Peninsula 360 Radio program, in collaboration with Marcos Gutiérrez from ?Hecho en California?.

Among the participants were people from the Jewish and Palestinian communities, as well as residents in general, all brought together by the same humanitarian sentiment.

During this meeting different voices could be heard, such as Zac, who is Jewish and is in favor of the resolution, to stop the violence in Israel.

?What is happening right now is a genocide and it is very important to separate the ideas of Judaism and Zionism, because the Jews are a people, but Zionism is a political ideology that proposes and supports the killing of many Palestinian people, many people in their own land?, Zac commented on the subject.

The Redwood City resident explained that there are people who are against the state of Israel because they recognize what is really happening.

Mr. Brandon, another resident, spoke in front of everyone asking them to support the ceasefire and for Americans to get involved in these important issues: ?You have seen before images of children and women, churches, hospitals, nowhere in Gaza is safe and now it is clear that Israel as a force does not care about hostages, it does not care about a single land and we are all waking up and seeing that , this is for humanity?.

Manuel Ortiz commented that in Redwood City, the requested resolution will be voted on, since all the people who spoke in the Council did so in favor of a ceasefire, so the Council must vote.

?As has already been said, Peninsula 360 Press, based in Redwood City, has taken the position of calling for a ceasefire and we will continue to insist for this to happen. Today the Jews themselves are defining what is happening in Gaza as a genocide, so we are going to follow it up and we are going to urge the mayor and councilors as local media?, stressed Manuel Ortiz.

In order for this resolution to be voted in favor and signed by the Council, people are also invited to participate and not be indifferent to such a serious issue, since it is not only something isolated in Gaza, many talk about it. what it causes locally and how it affects the Jewish and Palestinian community.

What is happening in Gaza also affects each of the communities locally and the participation of each one is a key piece in the direction of this war.
