Within the framework of the elections that will be held in Mexico in 2024, left-wing citizens have created Dialogues for Transformation, an initiative that seeks to be a link between Mexicans abroad and the Mexican State.
"Dialogues for transformation is a citizen initiative that aims to generate spaces for listening, discussion and reflection in all areas and, of course, also in the foreign policy of Mexicans outside of Mexico," said political scientist Diego MartÃnez GarcÃa, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
In an interview with Manuel Ortiz during the PenÃnsula 360 Radio program, in collaboration with Marcos Gutiérrez from ?Made in California?, the specialist, who is also part of this left-wing citizen initiative, said that the idea of the project is to detect needs and propose viable solutions that contribute to the strengthening of Mexico and Mexicans, including those abroad.
?All people are welcome in their capacity as citizens; We are a movement where all opinions are relevant, the idea is that we can discuss how it is possible to improve the capacity of the Mexican State and its institutions to serve our fellow citizens abroad through inclusive public policies sensitive to their specific demands? he explained.
MartÃnez stressed that the vision of the initiative reflects a renewed commitment to the Mexican diaspora, recognizing its value and contribution to the present and future of Mexico, while seeking to guarantee its well-being abroad.
In this way, Dialogues for Transformation Abroad seeks to open spaces for discussion so that communities of Mexicans living in other countries can express their needs, concerns and proposed solutions to the great challenges they have to face as migrants in different latitudes of the world.
There are five topics that are intended to be addressed in these dialogues: the first is the improvement of consular services; the second are the mechanisms to facilitate the sending of remittances; the third is the right to vote; the fourth, returning Mexicans; and five, investment and community linkage programs.
?The idea is to hold a very broad and democratic consultation that will allow us to lay the foundations for what we can present to the candidate of the Mexican left for the presidency of the Republic, and that will be the basis for building in the future one of the reforms that are needed to improve the quality of life of each and every Mexican abroad? he added.
The group of citizens, among whom are academics, scientists and intellectuals, among others, will deliver all the reports, proposals and demands that arise from these dialogues, to the future president of Mexico if she is from the left.
In order to be part of this consultation, there is an open invitation for any Mexican in the world to participate, and it is through the contact email dialogsxlatransformation@gmail.com, where this group will return the email, getting in touch to carry out dialogues under various methodologies, whether it be an open forum or just exposing the proposals, these can be small or large and will take place throughout the month of January.
?We make a general call open to all citizens, to all Mexicans abroad so that they can be and form part of the initiative to be able to get in touch and in turn we collect all the reports, the proposals and all the demands possible?, he highlighted.
