The celebrations for the Chinese New Year 2024 are ready in San Francisco, so this Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, the city is expected to receive a high flow of visitors due to the annual parade, as well as for the Community Street Fair of two days in Chinatown.
The parade will go from Market and Second streets to Kearny and Jackson streets starting at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Attendance at the event, which lasts approximately two and a half hours, is free, but tickets must be purchased at www.chineseparade.com to sit in the bleacher sections.
Actress and comedian Awkwafina will be the grand marshal of this year's parade and other local politicians and entertainers are expected to attend.
The celebrations also feature a community street fair in the city's Chinatown neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with more than 120 booths and concessions, as well as an entertainment stage located on Pacific Avenue below Grant Avenue, according to organizers.
Those looking to purchase bleacher seats can find them through Eventeny. The cost ranges from $41 to $70 per ticket.
Where are the stands located?
Section A is located on Kearny Street (between Washington and Jackson Streets); Section B is located on Kearny Street (between California and Sacramento streets); Section C is located on Post St. (between Grant Ave and Kearny streets); Section E is located on Geary St (between Stockton and Powell Streets).
It should be noted that this is a public event so the organizers have requested to obey all local laws and regulations regarding items that cannot be brought to the public, for example, no weapons, firearms, explosives, drones, etc.
