Give with love

Emma Prusch cherished her dairy farm, which was originally an 86-acre site. In his generosity, he deeded the property to the city of San José in 1962 to enjoy as an agricultural park in the center of a busy city.

Ms. Prusch specifically requested that the land maintain its country feel, preserving the quality of the Santa Clara Valley that she remembered when trees and animals were more prominent than houses, freeways and shopping centers.

Of the original donation, eleven acres became the home of the Police Activities League (PAL) for youth sports, and 47 acres were dedicated in 1982 as Emma Prusch Farm Park.

The park is home to the largest barn in San José where 4H livestock projects are housed; The animals vary throughout the year, so keep coming back to see what's around, plus it has robust community gardens, a rare fruit orchard and acres of open grass perfect for picnicking, kite flying, playing and relaxing.
