Protesters at San Francisco International Airport urge ceasefire in Gaza after 158 days of attacks

Protesters at San Francisco International Airport urge ceasefire in Gaza after 158 days of attacks
158 days after attacks by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, around 300 protesters at the San Francisco International Airport urge a ceasefire in Gaza.

Listen to this note:

158 days after attacks by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, around 300 people decided to demonstrate this Wednesday morning at the San Francisco International Airport, urging a total and definitive ceasefire, since it has caused a genocide with the death of more than 31 thousand, mostly women and children.

The approximately 300 protesters have separated into three groups, one of them outside the San Francisco International Airport, and two more at the checkpoints to enter flights.

?Here we are to close access to the San Francisco International Airport, to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and Palestine. The United States government, President Biden's government, is fueling a genocide with the taxes we pay in this country, it is providing bombs and weapons to fuel the bombing of Gaza, more than 30 thousand people have died, including women, children, men "Civilians?" Ariel, one of the protesters, told Peninsula 360 Press.

The young woman recalled that this demonstration was due to the genocide of more than 30,000 civilians due to the Israeli government's declared war against the extremist group Hamas.

?They are bombing civilians, families, homes, ambulances, hospitals. There is no longer a functioning hospital in Gaza because they have already destroyed all the infrastructure. What we are doing here is saying that there have been 158 days of genocide, that is too much, does it have to stop?

With banners and drums, Ariel stressed that we must stop this genocide. What we demand is a ceasefire, that is the minimum, it is not much, we are not demanding much, we only demand that this genocide stop, that there be sovereignty, freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people?

From 8:00 a.m. to 10:38 a.m., the protesters sought to stay in the space, one minute for each day of attacks (158).

?Here we are in San Francisco, but there are people of conscience around the world, doing the same thing, closing access to transportation, closing the streets, the airports, the trains; In Buenos Aires, London, New York, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, everywhere there are people of conscience doing their part, their grain of sand, asking for this genocide to stop and there is no other way to do it, because we have already been days of genocide?

Like the around 300 protesters, Ariel recalled that the group to which he belongs has done everything to raise its voice against what is happening in the enclave since the outbreak of this war on October 7, 2023.

?We have done everything, we have had peaceful marches in the streets, written emails, petitions, letters, we have met with our congressmen, we have done everything, but Biden, the president, is ignoring the thousands of voices demanding an end to the fire?.

"Please, if President Biden is listening to us, do the minimum, do your job, it is your responsibility as president of this country to stop this genocide," he demanded.

Although police were on the lookout during the demonstration, everything went off without any major problems.

Finally, the protester called for everyone to join in demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and thereby stop a genocide.

?Everyone can demand a ceasefire, they can speak to their representatives, their congressmen, their government, their officials, they can demonstrate in the streets, in their workplace, send emails to their bosses, to executives. ; If they work in large companies they can demand that executives and leaders do the right thing and also demand a ceasefire. All people have the power to do something, it is very important, it is very urgent, 30 thousand people have died, is it too much? said Ariel.
