California has launched the campaign Lists, which, unlike its initiator Ready, seeks to empower and inform women as a fundamental part of caring for the most vulnerable communities, as they become involved in the needs of the state and prepare to protect themselves against natural disasters such as: forest fires, earthquakes, floods and landslides. .
Since 2019, the Listos California program has managed to reach millions of Californians in the face of the different threats that arise, such as natural disasters, something that, otherwise, would not have access to essential information on preparedness for emergencies that can save lives, experts said during an information session carried out by Ethnic Media Services.
The Ready California 2023 initiative identified key demographic groups that would benefit from additional resources to help them stay informed and prepare for disasters, with women being one of the main groups poised for additional commitment.
And, they pointed out, being mothers, sisters, grandmothers and daughters, they are more involved in the issues that matter to the communities, which is why Cal OES launched ?California Lists? in March, during Women's History Month.
Listas California is a pioneering effort by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to train women with emergency resilience knowledge, they stressed.
Thus, Listas recognizes the vital role that women play in today's society as leaders, agents of change, transformations in social roles and decision-making.
The initiative shares women-focused digital assets, including social media graphics and informational videos that recognize disaster preparedness and resilience at home, work, and communities.
The Listas initiative includes over 80 pieces of unique digital assets, including social media graphics, informational videos, and a page dedicated to honoring women in the home.
The purpose is to provide necessary knowledge for women to lead their families during natural disasters such as forest fires, earthquakes, floods and landslides.
