Important data

Register to vote or update your voter registration information at www.registertovote.ca.gov

If you miss the registration deadline, you still have options to vote. Contact the San Mateo County Elections Office for information about Conditional Voter Registration, available between October 22 and November 5.

Voters without a fixed address are encouraged to register by providing a description of where they live, including the streets that cross them. This allows the county election office to issue you a ballot that includes all the races you can vote in based on where you live.

If you have questions about voter registration or to request a paper voter registration application, please contact the San Mateo County Elections Office.

Ways to vote

Absentee ballot

In early October, the San Mateo County Elections Office will begin mailing ballots to all registered voters. We encourage you to mark and return your voted ballot as soon as possible. Be sure to sign the return envelope. Ballots can be returned by mail or in person at any official San Mateo County drop box or vote center.

Track your vote and sign up for voting status alerts at wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov.
