A man was stabbed in East Palo Alto Monday night following celebrations for the 4th of July, the day commemorating U.S. independence.
According to the local Police Department, officers responded to a report at 11:35 p.m. for a stabbing victim in the 400 block of East O'Keefe Street.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim and applied first aid before paramedics arrived, but the person died at the scene.
Police withheld the victim's name pending notification of next of kin, according to a press release issued by police around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The stabbing death marks East Palo Alto's third homicide so far this year.
