I am 17 years old, and like so many my age, I am concerned about my future and the challenges that face my generation. What gives me hope? This election gives the people of San Mateo a strong leader for our future: Noelia Corzo for San Mateo County Supervisor.
Voters need a leader who has experience, who is a good role model with vision, and who will represent ALL residents’ voices. Noelia Corzo is the candidate who is qualified for this role.
Noelia currently serves as a trustee of the San Mateo-Foster City School District. From developing and managing budgets, to stepping up to meet the needs of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, to founding the Sanctuary Task Force to support our immigrant origin families, she is an experienced, knowledgeable and trusted leader with dedication and passion to look out for the interests of all.
In this election for San Mateo County Supervisor, voters have an opportunity to make a crucial choice in regards to what our priorities will be for future of our county. Ms. Corzo’s priorities include housing, mental health, women’s rights, public safety and police accountability, education and childcare, climate action, gun safety, inflation recovery, and seamless transit services.
At a time when youth are struggling with mental health, gun violence is at an all-time high, and we worry about our ability to make a living in a world struggling with a climate emergency – we need a strong leader with these priorities like Noelia Corzo.
And in a representative democracy, we need a leader who can represent all of us who live here in this diverse and amazing county. Noelia Corzo was born in San Mateo and has lived experiences of being the daughter of immigrants, a social worker, a single mom, and a gun violence survivor. She has experienced the challenges of the working class, and struggling to find affordable housing, and supporting family with mental health issues.
Voters need a County Supervisor who is knowledgeable, listens to everyone’s concerns, and serves as a voice for those who haven’t felt heard. Noelia has life experiences and understands firsthand the challenges that so many in our country have faced. Her presence and experience on the board will be critical in shaping policy from her lens – a lens that she has because she has lived experiences others have not.
San Mateo County deserves a leader who is a role model of honesty, integrity and respect. Someone who bases decisions on the interest and backing of those in her county. Please help support a voice and hope for all of our future. Please encourage anyone voting in San Mateo’s District 2 (San Mateo, Foster City, northern part of Belmont) to vote for Noelia Corzo for County Supervisor. Who we elect at all levels of government, matters.
