San Mateo police said a community member played an important role in the arrest of a woman's alleged sex offender at a laundromat last Monday.
The person recognized the suspect after police shared a photo asking for the public's help in locating the alleged assailant.
A member of the community recognized the assailant and called the police, which led to his arrest.
In Monday's incident reported at the laundromat, the victim said the suspect purposely grabbed the palm of her hand and touched her buttocks. Shortly after the contact, the suspect fled on foot.
