AMLO asks Trump not to send him to the "Chingada" early

AMLO asks Trump
AMLO asks Trump not to send him to the "Chingada" ahead of time, because, he said, he has not retired yet and the term of his mandate ends until the end of September.

Listen to this note:

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, asked the former president and Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump, not to send him to the "Chingada" ahead of time, because, he said, he has not retired yet and the term of his mandate ends until the end of September.

This is in a letter sent this Wednesday by López Obrador to Trump, which, among many other issues, responds to what the Republican mentioned in his first rally with the vice presidential candidate, JD Vance, in Michigan, where he noted that "the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is no longer president of Mexico?

In the four-page letter, the Mexican president called "friend" to Trump to whom, first of all, he expressed his solidarity for the attack he experienced.

?Dear Friend. First of all, I want to express my solidarity for the cowardly attack that you knew how to face with good luck and courage. Know that ours was the first of all the governments that condemned that aggression. “We speak out immediately not only because of the friendship that unites us, but also, as we discussed at the time, because we are convinced that violence in any of its manifestations is irrational and inhuman,” wrote AMLO.

Afterwards, AMLO told Trump that, if he won the presidency, closing the border with Mexico would cause serious damage to the people, industry and commerce on both sides of the dividing line.

That being said, I want to clarify with sincerity and respect two issues that you addressed at the recent Republican Party Convention. The first is his opinion that migrants are ?invaders? and "thugs?", and that, if he won the Presidency, he would close the border with Mexico from the first days of his mandate.

?I understand that you are in a campaign and that it is not ?as some people think? a stubborn one; For this reason, I consider it important to point out that the economic integration between our nations is so intense and widespread that taking a measure of this nature would be equivalent to calling for a rebellion on both sides of the border due to the damage it would cause to the people, to the industry. and to commerce; This undesirable perspective would manifest itself with particular gravity in the United States and especially in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, which together with the six border states on the Mexican side represent the fourth world economy?, AMLO pointed out.

In that sense, he highlighted that this decision would prevent one million people and 300,000 vehicles from crossing customs and bridges, of which 70,000 transport goods from one country to another that travel daily across the dividing line in both directions.

"I consider, therefore, that the most effective and humane thing is to understand the causes of migration, help create work and better living conditions in people's places of origin, and that instead of adopting unilateral measures that are harmful to the economies, and the populations, is it preferable to opt for dialogue, cooperation and agreement? he added.

AMLO explained that "it is neither advisable nor convenient, friend former President Trump, to manufacture in your country all the automobiles and auto parts that are consumed in your country."

And, he pointed out, it is unquestionable that the United States has in this activity a historical experience unmatched in the world and that it also has technology and capital; However, its production costs are very high, a situation that has been resolved precisely with the creation of automotive and auto parts plants in Mexico, for the benefit of both investors and companies as well as American workers and consumers.

?I also ask you to take into account the following data: 37.7 million Mexicans live in the United States; seven out of 10 agricultural workers are of Mexican origin. Last year, Mexicans in the United States contributed 325 billion dollars to the economy of that country and generously sent 63 billion dollars to their relatives in Mexico, that is, they send 18.5 percent and leave 81.5 percent in the United States. percent of their total income?, stressed López Obrador.

On the other hand, he explained that the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) is the only option to successfully face the competition that China's economic and commercial advance means.

?As you know, since we came to government we have indicated that North America must consolidate itself as an independent region without being subject to the supply of goods and supplies from other continents.

?Friend President Trump: without the trade agreement that has benefited the people of Canada, the United States and Mexico so much, fundamentally through import substitution and job creation in the three nations? We would run the risk of being left behind, as China legitimately aims to reach 32 percent of global GDP by 2040; In contrast, if the nations of North America do not unite and strengthen each other, we will barely achieve 23 percent?

AMLO said that his administration's proposal has not only consisted of opening the borders in North America in an orderly manner, but also seeking from now on the economic and commercial integration of the entire American continent: "adding vast natural resources, technology and labor of work, as well as taking advantage of the advantages of short distances for transporting goods to markets and taking advantage of the great demand for consumer goods?

"We seek, in short, to turn this continent into the most powerful region in the world, without exclusions and with respect for the freedom, independence and sovereignty of all its peoples and nations."

And the former US president has repeated his campaign slogan countless times, "Make America Great Again." (Make America Great Again), but only talks about America as the United States, not as a continent.

?I understand, as I explained at the beginning, that as in any country where elections are held or there are electoral campaigns, the proposals are always more aimed at convincing voters and awakening their passions than at seeking a balance between feelings and reasons; That is why I am not so concerned about what is said in this season of a lot of rhetoric in which people tend to speak loudly and excessively?, he noted in that sense.

?It inspires confidence in me to have known about my friend Trump as a candidate and to have later treated him as president; I know that in his role as ruler he was a supporter of the USMCA and, most importantly, that he was always respectful of the sovereignty of our nation and careful of the friendship between our peoples?, AMLO elaborated.

?To conclude, dear President Trump, I remember the speech you gave when we signed the USMCA at the White House, on July 8, 2020. You then said: 'We are united by trade, history, family, faith; The United States is home to 36 million Mexican-American citizens who strengthen our churches, our communities and color every aspect of the life of our nation; Furthermore, they are great businessmen and women, they make up a large percentage of the businesses, they are extremely successful... great businessmen, great people and honorable beings? López Obrador reminded Trump.

Finally, AMLO wished Trump the best. "Even though he laughs and it always seems strange to him, here's another hug."
